Tinley Park was selected by BusinessWeek as a perfect place to raise a family and the town is growing quickly with a little over 56,000 people calling the village home. Tinley has a lucrative past with its beginnings as the home to the Potawatomi tribe before the settlement of Europeans in the 1820s. It was officially incorporated in 1892 and originally named Bremen, but the spread of the railroad quickly changed that. Tinley Park was settled on the Chicago, Rock Island, Pacific railroad line and soon became a railroad hub. The town was shortly after named for the village's first railroad agent Samuel Tinley Sr. The historic downtown has maintained the old district lines and maintaining the facade of the historic homes located in the old section of Tinley Park. The town is home to the Hollywood Casino Ampitheatre formerly the World and the Tweeter Center.
